Jeremy Whitehead's Maps and Guidebooks

Jeremy Whitehead (1931-2020) was a member of the Club for 56 years (see Yearbook pp. 103-107), and bequeathed his personal collection of ski-touring maps and guidebooks to the Club. They have fairly comprehensive coverage of the main ski-touring areas of France, Switzerland, Austria and Italy, and the guidebooks are generally in the local language. Some of the guidebooks have Jeremy’s annotations, and some maps have his own routes marked. A few are relatively recent (early 2010s) but most are much older and unlikely to be of much practical use for touring. The committee have agreed that it is not appropriate to add the whole collection to the official Club Archives, and so I will be bringing them to the AGM and Dinner in Oxfordshire on 6th November for members to "help themselves", perhaps as a memento of a tour made with Jeremy; I am providing small stickers to indicate that they are from his collection. If anyone who is unable to attend the AGM is interested in any of them, then please contact me (I'm afraid I have not compiled a catalogue).

This collection is distinct from Jeremy's own privately published guidebooks to ski-touring in the French Alps. Jeremy's own hard copies of these will be retained in the Club's Archives, and I am hoping to place machine-readable versions on the Website in due course.
