The Eagle Ski Club offers support through several different award schemes:
-
Development Awards: To assist ESC members aged 35 or younger to get established in ski touring or ski mountaineering. Non-members may apply for awards but must become members to receive any award given.
- Adventure Awards: An annual award is available to assist Eagle Ski Club members (particularly younger members) to organise or take part in ski touring or ski mountaineering tours that may be challenging, adventurous, exploratory or in some way different than a standard club tour. The definition of an adventurous trip is broad and does not have to be to a remote or far-away mountain range, though it can be.
For more details of each of these awards and how to apply for them, follow the appropriate link above.
Grants may also be available from the Alpine Ski Club (follow this link).
The Club also supports training for ESC members who would like to, or currently lead tours for the club. The core training programme is subsidised by the club, but Leader Training Grants are also available. More details can be found on the Leading Tours page. The form for Tour Leader/Potential Tour Leader Training Grants can be found here.
Please note that any discussion with officers of the Eagle Ski Club regarding the above mentioned awards will only be in the context of those officers making an assessment of the merits of the undertaking and suitability for grant aid. Any information provided during such discussions by officers of the club will, by its nature, be historical, derived from personal or anecdotal evidence and should not be regarded as definitive.
