Good end-of-season viewing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1WghY48n_OI
Fantastic documentary (with voiceover in French), a lot of it about horses and horsemanship but also surviving in Mongolia. He starts making his skis at about 34 minutes but the best sequence starts around 43:40.

I took a quick look at it, intending to show it to my grandson, but now it is saying that it is unavailable and private. I will be interested to hear if anyone can access it as it looked fascinating.

Thanks for the tip off Mike. A wild bit of skiing! I caught it on the last day before Arte took it off. The youtube link was to the fab French/EU channel Arte. They run documentaries etc for a period then take them off, but often only for a few weeks/months then run them again. So, John, if you can't find the film elsewhere keep a eye on Arte. The Arte version had English sub-titles, unlike the youtube version.
