La Grave accommodation?

We are (will be) a team of four + guide for a week's hut-hut in the Ecrins. Any suggestions for sensibly priced and not too grotty accommodation La Grave for start and end of tour? There's lots of choice on the website (www.lagrave-lamieje.com - thanks for the link Andy P).

regards to all and stay safe

Dan,

If you have a vehicle consider Villar d'Arene.  The gite La Breche is very convivial and inexpensive, though dormitories and facilities are perhaps a bit basic.  If you want something more comfortable, hotel Cristillan in La Grave is not too expensive.

Jude and I stayed at Gite le Rocher. Mellow hippy atmosphere. Very clean. Large well equippedkitchen.Ensuite rooms with 4-6 bunks.

Hotel Eidelweiss is OK if you prefer not to cook. Similar to Hotel le Monal in Ste Foy

I stayed some years ago in the Eidelweiss  in La Grave and thought it pretty good. Can't say how it rates on prices now. Have also visited it for a snack in the summer more recently - still seemed fine.

Again, in Villar d'Arene, the Hotel Les Agneaux is pretty good value - has gite and hotel-type accommodation

We've just got back from La Grave and stayed at  Gite Le Rocher, half board about 40€ a night. No hesitation recommending.
