The Club intend to organise a Rescue Emergency Care (REC) training course in the Autumn. This universally popular course (see yearbooks for reviews) is run by Nick Banks (UIAGM) who has many years' experience as a practitioner of such First Aid skills in wild places, he is also a very engaging tutor. Attendance is strongly recommended for all ski mountaineers.
Previous courses have been run in North Wales but it is recognised that this may not be convenient for a lot of members, therefore views are being sought as to alternative locations and expressions of interest. The course is run over two days and we usually hire a bunkhouse/similar for sole use from Friday night to late Sunday afternoon.
Options include, but are not limited to: North Wales, Peak District, Lakes. Cost is likely to be in the region of £120 - £150pp depending on accommodation costs. Numbers are limited to 12 and training grants may be available.
